Parents Protection Ordinance 2021.

Pakistan has enacted the Parents Protection Ordinance 2021, which aims to protect parents from forced evictions by their children even if the house is owned/rent is paid by the children. Issued under Article 89 of the constitution, the ordinance states that while children cannot evict parents, parents can serve a written notice to the children to vacate the house if it belongs to them (the parents). Failure to vacate will result in a one-month imprisonment and fine or both along with an intervention by the authorities who will force an eviction. Once, arrested the individuals will be presented before a magistrate court and the right to appeal will be reserved by both parties.
